2. From Mr. Angel Lozano

Online event at NLCS JEJU, “Women Rock IT’,

on Wednesday, November 18th, from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at the PAC.

Only for female students, year 9 - 13.

This event, organised by Cisco is designed to both inspire young women to consider careers in sciences as well as support and motivate female students already on that journey. This event will feature prominent female professionals from a wide range of backgrounds who have successfully combined the world of technology with passion! Students who attend the event will receive a Certificate of Participation.

Women Rock-IT is a global event. Students from Singapore, India, Malaysia, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, United States and Korea will attend the event.


3. From Mr. Felim Clancy

FAO: Students taking the AMC8:

The AMC8 Maths Competition takes place on Wednesday 18th November at 5:15pm in the Auditorium. Please tell the teacher running your Wednesday co-curricular activity that you need to leave slightly early to get to the Auditorium.

You will need to bring the following with you:

A pencil

An eraser

A ruler

A protractor

There will be a limited number of these items available if you do not have your own.

Calculators are NOT allowed.

If you are unsure if you are taking this, please see Mr Clancy or the list of names on the noticeboard outside B25. There are still some spaces available.


4. From Mrs. Judy Nesbit

Model United Nations

There will be a Global Education MUN conference at KIS on 20 -21 February next term. Letters have been sent to those doing MUN CCA. Anyone in Year 9-12 who would like to attend the conference but does not come to MUN CCA should send Mrs Nesbit an email to request a letter.
